Since the inception of the first Christmas initiative in 2024, an impressive sum of over 280,000 pounds has been raised for various projects. The funds have been garnered from the sales of festive merchandise at the Stamford Bridge store and online shopping portal, as well as generous contributions from fans and staff members. These proceeds are dedicated to supporting the homeless and individuals living alone in the southwest London and Surrey regions. Moreover, supporters have the opportunity to donate gifts at the home matches of both the men's and women's teams. Last year, a total of 3,200 presents were collected and distributed to those in need.
Laura Codling, the head of Chelsea Foundation, emphasized that Christmas is traditionally a time for family gatherings, yet many local residents often feel isolated during the holiday. The club aims to channel the fans' passion for the team into tangible support for the community, by providing funding to local organizations to sustain their assistance programs throughout the year.
The foundation, in addition to hosting a charity sale of goods, organizes an annual Christmas luncheon at Stamford Bridge, extending hospitality to individuals living alone. Commencing from November 14th, gift donation stations will be set up at the home matches of both the Chelsea men's and women's teams. Fans have the opportunity to contribute presents at the venue. Alternatively, supporters may make a donation of five pounds by sending a text message to the foundation, thereby aiding in the support of assistance programs.
