The upcoming 'TotalEnergies' Africa Cup of Nations is scheduled to be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda in 2027, and I am confident that this tournament will be a resounding success. Subsequent editions of the Africa Cup will take place in 2028, 2031, and 2033. The 2030 FIFA World Cup will also be held, adhering to FIFA's tradition, no Africa Cup or continental national team championship will be held in the same year. The Africa Cup of Nations is not merely a football spectacle but also a grand celebration of Africa's diverse cultures, customs, and traditions, uniting the people of the continent's 54 nations, diaspora Africans, and friends across the globe. The decision by the Confederation of African Football's executive committee aligns with the greatest interests of African football and its 54 member associations, and it is poised to significantly propel the sport's long-term growth.
